The Indian Village has been a major part of the Calgary Exhibition and Stampede since the inception in 1912. The Village attracts tourists from around the world. It is a great way for visitors to experience the First Nations traditions and culture first hand.
The First Nations People at Indian Village represent the 5 tribes, the Siksika, T'suu Tina, Nakoda (Stoney), Piikani (Peigan) and Kainai (Blood) of Treaty 7. There are 27 Tee Pees at the Indian Village. Many of the Elders have been participating since they were babies and now bring their children and grandchildren. Numerous demonstrations of native traditions and culture occur daily in the Indian Village.
We look forward to seeing you at the Indian Village!
