Sahvanne Weasel Traveller is a member of the Piikani First Nation, located near Pincher Creek, Alberta. Sahvanne recalls attending the Calgary Stampede as a young girl, and the appearance of the Indian Princess in the parade on horseback was her inspiration in competing for the title of the Calgary Stampede Indian Princess. She was raised within a lifestyle that has taught her to be proud of her traditions and has made her aware of the uniqueness of her culture. Sahvanne has chosen a career in the fashion and cosmetology industry and is currently employed as a freelance Make-up Artist. As the Calgary Stampede Indian Princess, she will be representing the tribes of Treaty 7, Siksika, Tsuu T’ina, Nakoda (Stoney), Piikani and Kainai Nations, as well as the Indian Village and the Calgary Stampede.
Sahvanne is part of the Calgary Stampede Royalty program. She is the Ambassador for the Indian Village and welcomes everyone to visit the Indian Village while attending the "Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth".
